It was heartening to read about a judgement given by the New jersey Supreme court in USA where the court ruled that the IP address should be considered Personal Information of the Internet user similar to his bank account details or his telephone details. the Court further ruled that "Internet service providers can't disclose a subscriber's IP address to the police without a grand jury subpoena". This is a good precedence being set by a court in USA, which should be taken into account by the law-makers in India.
